To get a WiKi running on WAMP:
- Download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package from here
Download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package from here
Install both of them.
- Download the WAMP server package from here.
Install the WAMP server package...
- From the WAMP menu, select PHPMyAdmin, and delete the users except the one called 'root'.
Add a password for the user 'root'.
Goto the folder C:\WAMP\apps\PHP... edit the file config.inc.php adding the password to ...
Go back to the PHPmyadmin page, if you're locked out then clear the recent internet history (cookies etc) from your browser.
- Download the MediaWiKi framework from here.
(To unpack it you may need a program such as 7Zip or WinRAR)
Rename the resulting folder and put it in C:\wamp\www\
- To move an existing WiKi - copy the folder C:\WAMP\www\example\images from the old machine over to the new machine.
From phpmyadmin on the old machine do a backup of the database with the same name as the WiKi, make sure it's zipped otherwise it may be too big to import.
Import it to the new machine.
Then goto http://localhost/example/ and follow the steps.
For the server address change localhost to the name or IP address of the host machine.
Move the LocalSettings.php file into c:\WAMP\WWW\example\
- To be able to upload images and other files to the WiKi:
Open php.ini and make sure it has the line
file_uploads = On
and in LocalSettings.php the line
$wgDisableUploads = true; # Disable uploads
